From being comfortably far off, our start day is now almost upon us. We are reasonably organised. We have a detailed plan of our journey. Matt and Viviana will drive us to Cape Reinga. Our bikes are serviced. We have clothes, waterproof coverings, a Go-pro camera. We have booked accommodation for the first 3 nights. We have lists of things to pack and chores to be done.
But we are yet to put everything together and make it fit into our bags. A few tasks remain such as lining the trike basket with plastic to stop dust and water. And despite all our previous riding I wonder how it will be travelling day after day...
Logic and experience tells me we'll be fine, and this is just normal pre-trip tension... But still I feel the tension.
Today was my nephew's wedding, a wonderful couple and a very happy day. As we left we wished his brother well in the 2 day Coast to Coast race - Now there is a journey to make one nervous! What we will be doing is relaxation compared to that race.
